The Digital Stew

Documenting the digital world one link at a time

The Pure Waters Of Tasmania

I really like this commercial I saw on Creativity Online for James Boag’s Draught. The way it tells a story about a mystical water in Tasmania which its purity makes things come out better. In one example a fisherman dips his knife in the water and his knife becomes a lightsaber. One of my [...]

maps + music = road trip

I love the idea of a automobile/ home audio company providing a tool to find music while you travel. Its actually pretty simple, input your destination and it will assemble a playlist by landmarks, driving directions, or bands link to places along the way. After creating the playlist you can print it out and even [...]

Unity…bringing digital platforms together

One of things we like to do on the digital stew is talk about emerging tech. See I also have a love for flash programming, probably equal to my love for designing comps. I feel it feeds the other side of my brain. In creating today’s ads today you have to have a certain love [...]

They do “Clean Advertising” which basically means they clean the dirt out and leave a logo or message using a stencil. Also they do sand branding, solor art, waterfall branding and “Logrow”. Autistic Basketball Player

Surprising enough he ended up in a Super Bowl commercial last night for Gatorade G. It’s crazy how YouTube can spread news and stories faster than television can. One of [...]

Photo Hunt in YouTube

We’ve all played photo hunt by the bar with a few drinks next to us. This is a classic game that can be addictive. With this economy, clients are looking for great ideas at a low cost and that is what dailyfill.com did for the 2009 Oscars. By using a community platform with millions of [...]

Travel guide using AR

When I was visiting Italy, I had to have a travel guide to really appreciate what I was seeing. Now instead of paying someone to give you this information, its all available on your phone. With this Android application it uses Augmented Reality and GPS to provide information coming from Wikipedia. Using the camera on [...]

About

A stew is a dish that is compiled of a bunch of different ingredients. Something that is slowly prepared with lots spices and stirring. This blog represents the stew of digital tidbits that live inside our heads. Its a place to document the things that call our attention as consumers, and something to inspire our students in our class at Miami Ad School. Hope you brought a big spoon.
